New Features

Control a Computer Remotely with Remote Control

The TODA Live Desktop app for macOS and Microsoft Windows now includes a remote desktop control functionality. With this feature, users can take control of a remote computer when utilizing the Share Screen feature.

Depending on your TODA Live environment, the feature may be enabled or disabled by default upon room creation. However, Hosts have the flexibility to enable or disable this feature by accessing the Screen Sharing Settings widget in the Admin Control Panel of the room and toggling on or off the Remote Control option.

Known Limitations: Remote Control

  • Supported Devices: Currently, Remote Control is only supported on desktops. Mobile and tablet devices are not supported at this time.
  • Windows Visibility: If you're sharing a screen with the TODA Live window open, it may disappear from view. However, you will still hear participants from the room. To interact with the room or view presentations, move the TODA Live window to another screen before sharing.
  • Windows Admin Permissions: Due to Windows security constraints, Admin access may be required to use Remote Control.
  • macOS Menu Bar: During screen sharing on MacOS, the menu bar may auto-hide when presenting the color frame around the controlled screen.
  • Dynamic Monitor Configuration: Changing monitor configurations in OS settings (ie. unplugging monitors or adjusting display layouts), is not supported during a remote desktop session.
  • Secondary Screen Windows: If the user sharing their screen moves the TODA Live window from a secondary screen, clicking on the minimize or maximize buttons may cause the controls to freeze for the remote user.

Audio MCU for Improved Performance

We've optimized the process for hosting larger meetings with over 25 participants!

From the Admin Control Panel (ACP), Hosts now have the ability to enhance the audio experience for larger meetings by enabling the Audio MCU toggle, located in Room Settings.

Audio MCU (short for Audio Multiplexing) facilitates smoother audio by muxing the feeds in the cloud and sending it back to the receiver with only one audio stream. This will aid in reducing the resource consumption of the hardware.

NOTE: Audio MCU can only be enabled when the room is empty.

Apple TV Viewer x TODA Live

TODA Live is now available on Apple TV! Participants can log in to the Apple TV app to join meetings and view media in real-time.

Once you’ve downloaded the TODA Live App and are logged in, you’ll find the homepage which exclusively displays active rooms, meaning there is at least one participant present.

This functionality is particularly advantageous for reviewing Create Sessions with edit-over-the-shoulder capabilities or for delivering video presentations on a larger screen, ideal for conference room setups.

NOTE: Within the room, the Apple TV user will be listed as a participant in the Participant list of the room, available in both the Host Control and Admin Control Panels.

Known Limitations: Apple TV Viewer

  • Displayed Content:
    • Video content in file formats, such as .MP4, and TODA Live Create Sessions can be displayed on Apple TV. However, file formats, such as PDF or JPEG will result in a black screen.
    • The Apple TV App only supports viewing media presentations. Meaning participants' videos, whiteboards and annotations, or shared screens will not be visible.
  • Playback Settings: Rotate, playback speed, and title positioning are currently unavailable on the Apple TV App.
  • Closed Room: When the Host closes the room, Apple TV viewers will not receive a notification that the session has ended.

Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid Media Composer Plugins

New versions of the TODA Live plugin for Adobe Creative Cloud Applications and Avid Media Composer are now available. Both plugins now allow you to send multiple streams from your editing software directly to the TODA Live room.

Known Limitations: Adobe Premier Pro and Avid Media Composer Plugins

  • Switching Between Tabs: The UI state is not preserved when switching between tabs. For instance, selecting input #2, navigating to the settings tab, then returning to the input tab will require you to re-select input #2.
  • Renaming a Room: Participants that are not Host’s have the ability to change the room name. However, these changes will not be permanently saved.
  • RTSP Bitrate Options: When selecting Constant (CBR) or Variable (VBR) in the Bitrate type on RTSP protocol, you may experience occasional audio disruptions.
  • Resizing Streams
    • macOS: Adjusting the size of a streaming window on macOS may cause the stream to stop. However, it can easily be restarted without any complications.
    • Windows: Resizing a streaming window does not automatically update the stream resolution. This may result in cropping or afterimages.
  • Avid
    • Window Resolution: Auto resolution when sharing windows is recommended to prevent content from stretching.
    • Video Quality: Due to Avid restrictions, only full video quality is available at this time.

  • Adobe Premier Pro
    • Sharing on Windows: Child windows from Adobe Premiere Pro cannot be shared on Windows.
    • Playback: Selecting from playback options or seeking through media may result in audio disruptions, primarily on Adobe platforms.

Resolved Issues

  • Optimized resource consumption during meetings.
  • Better quality of ISO recordings when using iOS devices.
  • Every Create session is automatically displayed within the room. In previous versions, only the first triggered Create Session in the room would be automatically displayed. The next sessions could only be presented by navigating to the Host Control Panel’s Media Tab.
  • Streaming Settings in both the Admin Control Panel and the Host Control Panel are always in sync.
  • External links from the TODA Live app will open in your default browser.
  • Users can now enjoy uninterrupted access to the TODA Live desktop app without having to repeatedly sign in after each session.
  • Rooms will be deleted after 90 days of inactivity, even if they contain recordings or uploaded media.

Tested on the following app versions:

  • Windows 24.4.4
  • Mac 24.4.4
  • Android 1.0.17
  • iOS 1.0.17
  • Avid TODA Live plugin 24.04
  • Adobe Creative Cloud TODA Live plugin 24.04
