Theme Tab Access for Hosts and Admins
The Theme tab, previously exclusive to the Admin Control Panel (ACP), is now available directly in the Host Control Panel (HCP), making room customization simpler than ever!
Plus, we’ve refreshed the Theme tab in the Admin Control Panel (ACP), ensuring a seamless experience for customizing your room.
Here’s how it works:
In the Theme Tab, click the Theme toggle to manage the visibility of your room’s theme.
Next, choose the preferred Tile Size for participants with three preset options, making it easy to find the layout that works best for your session.
Upload your Logo, Background, and Welcome Screen assets. Before adding them, make sure to first upload your media to the Media tab of the room.
- Logos: Can be displayed at the top center of the room and must be in JPG or PNG format.
- Background: Set the perfect atmosphere with an image or a video.
- Welcome Screen: When enabled, displays the selected image to non-visible participants and during recording.
Once you’ve added your assets, enable the corresponding logo, background, and welcome screen toggles.
- The toggles will remain disabled until you’ve selected your assets, ensuring everything is set up before applying the theme within the room.
When a theme is enabled, TODA Live's top and bottom bars, along with the chat UI, will maintain their purple color to ensure consistent icon and text visibility.
Layout Tabs
Tile Settings and Local Layout
Layout tab is now organized into three distinct subtabs: Tile Settings, Tile Layout, and Presentation Layout, each with specific controls to improve room management.
Tile Settings: Previously exclusive to the Admin Control Panel, Tile Settings are now available in the Host Control Panel. Manage participant tile visibility, including names and microphone levels, and enforce a consistent aspect ratio for all tiles in the room.
Tile Layout: Adjust the layout when no presentation is active, focusing on participant visibility and their arrangement.
Presentation Layout: Manage the layout when a presentation is active, whether it’s a whiteboard, screen share, or media content.
Hosts and Co-Hosts can now manage both local and global layouts directly from the Host Control Panel using the new 'Control All' toggle, allowing seamless switching between local and global layout management.
When 'Control All' is disabled, participants and presenters will have full control over their own local layouts from the bottom bar. Note that by default, the Host controls the layout.
Review Mode
The Review Mode presentation layout option is now available in the Admin Control Panel.
Users will now receive a notification at the top of their screen if muted by the Host or Co-Host during Review Mode.
Apple TV Improvements
Performance: We have significantly improved latency and startup times for streaming from Avid or Adobe plugins and during Create Sessions.
Homepage: Users can now find all accessible rooms from the Apple TV Homepage, regardless of participant activity, making navigation more intuitive.
Apple TV Version Tracking: The account modal now includes the Apple TV app version for easier tracking and updates.
ACP Connection: Apple TV users will appear in the participant list with "(Apple TV)" displayed next to their name.
Edit-Over-The-Shoulder Plugin Updates
Streamlined Updates: Improved upgrade mechanisms for a seamless update experience.
Loading Indicator: Added a loading indicator when starting a stream for clearer feedback.
Analytics: Enhanced telemetry and analytics to simplify troubleshooting for plugins and live streams.
Audio and Video:
- Improved audio-video synchronization during live streams.
- Adobe now supports 5.1 content, automatically downmixed for room compatibility.
- Added a mono audio toggle in the Adobe Premiere Pro plugin to address unwanted noise caused by active microphones on Bluetooth headsets.
- Audio settings are now disabled in the Adobe After Effects plugin as we do not support audio with that platform.
Calendar Plugins Available in the Marketplace
Google and Outlook calendar plugins are now available on their marketplaces for simplified installation, along with improvements to the Outlook Legacy plugin.
Media Presentation
When media is dragged and dropped from the HCP into the room, the "Let’s Go" modal now highlights the selected asset and provides presentation format options.
For videos that have been presented before, the Host can choose to either restart playback from the beginning or resume from the last stopping point.
The Default and Custom sorting options in the HCP reflect the order set in the Admin Control Panel (ACP) Media tab.
Default Sorting: Reflects changes made solely in the ACP.
Custom Sorting: Allows you to adjust the order directly within the HCP
TODA Live Experience
The TODA Live experience has undergone some minor improvements!
- Participants are now able to join a room using the Safari browser.
- The speaking indicator has been updated from green to light blue.
Resolved Issues
- Hosts and Co-Hosts could previously view past dial-in participants incorrectly; this issue has been addressed.
- Improved performance for the Blur functionality.
- Fixed an issue where the "LIVE" indicator was incorrectly displayed on uploaded video assets.
- Hosts and Co-Hosts can now successfully present MP3 files from the Chat into the room.
- Resolved a problem with HLS_ABR_6Mbps transcoding not functioning properly.
- TODA Live invite emails will no longer be sent automatically. Previously, interactions in the invite modal triggered emails without user control over recipients or timing. This functionality has been removed to support future enhancements and a more user-friendly implementation.
