Overview
Easily capture and stream high-quality audio and video content by connecting NDI with OBS Software. This process enables smoother workflow management, and flexible broadcasting options.
System Requirements
To leverage the full functionality of the TODA Live Desktop App with NDI, ensure that your Mac computer meets the following requirements:
- Hardware CPU (Intel, M1, M2)
- OS: MacOS 12.5 or later
To find this information, click the Apple icon, located at the top left of your Mac’s menu bar> About This Mac to view your OS version and CPU model.
Installation Requirements
OBS Studio
- Click HERE to download and install OBS Studio.
Install NDI Tools
You will need NDI installed on your system to send video from Premiere to OBS. These tools are available for download HERE.
- Install NDI Tools
- Open the NDI Launcher and register.
- Follow this path to find the NDI Launcher application: Finder>Applications>NDI Launcher

NDI for OBS Plug-in
The NDI plug-in for OBS can be found HERE.
Scroll down to locate the appropriate version for your operating system and click to initiate the download and installation process.
Next, ensure to download and install the NDI Plugin runtime that corresponds to your operating system.
NOTE: After installation, you may be prompted to restart
your computer for changes to take effect.
Setup Adobe Premiere Pro
- Open your Adobe Premiere Project.
- Navigate to the Premiere Pro tab, located at the top left side of the Mac menu bar.
- Click Preferences (or Settings) and locate the Playback option.
- Select NDI Output as your Audio Device and check the box for NDI Output as your Video Device.
- Click OK, to confirm.
Setup OBS Studio
Follow this path to launch OBS Studio.
Finder>Applications>OBS Studio
Once OBS launches, click the Settings option, located toward the bottom right-hand side of the application.
On the left-hand side of the screen, you will find the Output option in the menu. Here we will be able to optimize the streaming output settings for your needs.
Located at the top of the window, navigate to the Output Mode dropdown and select Advanced.
Next, under the Streaming tab, ensure that your settings match the following parameters:
Audio Encoder: CoreAudio AAC
Video Encoder: x264
Rescale Output: Off
Rate Control: CBR
Bitrate: 2500 Kbps
KeyFrame: 0s
CPU Usage Preset: veryfast
Profile: baseline
Tune: zerolatency
On the left-hand side of the screen, you will find and select the Video option from the menu. Here, you can set up your canvas for video output. These are the recommended settings:
Base (Canvas) Resolution: 1920x1080
Output (Scaled) Resolution: 1920x1080
Common FPS Values: 30
Click Apply to ensure that your chosen configurations are implemented.
Click, then OK to save your changes and close the window.
Set up your NDI Source.
Click the + icon, located at the bottom left-hand side of your screen, under "Sources".
A menu will appear for you to specify the NDI Source and Bandwidth.
Navigate and click NDI Source.
A window will pop up asking if you’d like to Create New or Add Existing. Click Create New.
Select the Source name with mention of “Adobe Premiere Pro.”
Click OK
Under Audio Mixer, click the three-dot menu to the right of the meter for NDI Source.
Click Advanced Audio Properties.
Under Audio Monitoring, click the dropdown menu to the right of NDI Source.
Select Monitor Off.
Click Close.
6. You will likely need to adjust the canvas size in OBS as well. To do this, align the red border to the preview window in the main OBS Window.
Join a TODA Live Room
- Sign into TODA by going to https://connect.todalive.com or by utilizing the private URL provided to you by your Account Manager. If it’s your first time signing in, check out our Sign In to TODA Livearticle.
- Once you land on the TODA Live welcome page, continue with the following steps:
a. Locate the meeting room you would like to access, and click the Join button. - Next, you will reach the TODA Live Lobby and select the gear icon to adjust your audio and video settings if necessary.
- Set the appropriate audio input device to speak during the meeting, and select the desired audio output device to listen to the meeting.
- Click outside of the settings window to exit, then click the Join button to enter the meeting.
Start Streaming in the TODA Live Desktop App
Now you are ready to stream your session!
- Starting in a TODA Live Room, open the Host Control Panel, located on the bottom right-hand side of your window.
- Within the Host Control Panel, click on the Media tab.
- Next, click the Feeds subtab.
- From here, click on the + icon to add an RTMP Feed to the media list.
- A new feed will appear under the Protocol section with the Default label “RTMP Feed".
TODA TIP: Double-click on the default RTMP Feed
title to rename it to your preference.
4. Click the arrow to the right of the label to see the RTMP Server URL and Channel ID.
5. Navigate to your OBS Settings once again, and select Stream.
- Copy the RTMP Server URL from the TODA Feed you created and paste it into the Server field on OBS, and be sure to erase any characters that may come after rtmp://lgw-connect.todalive.com/live/.
- Next, copy the Channel ID from the RTMP Feed and paste it in the Stream Key field.
- Click Apply.
- Then, click OK.
- Once you’re back in the main OBS window, click Start Streaming on the lower right-hand side of your screen.
6. From the TODA Live Host Control Panel, open the Media/File Browser.
7. Next, click and drag the Feed you created over to the main room window.
- When you release the icon, a window will appear asking if you’d like to present the media.
8. Click Let’s go!
9. Now, you should see your Premiere session in your TODA Live room.
NOTE: If you are unable to hear audio playing within the room - simply hover over the video and click the speaker icon, located at the bottom left-hand side of your window to adjust the volume level.
10. By default, all of the participants will be muted when the stream appears in the room. Below are steps to disable the Mute All feature during media playback.
a. Open the Media tab, located within the Host Control Panel.
b. Click the Feed that is displayed in the room.
c. Click the arrow to the right of Playback Settings.
d. Navigate to the setting labeled Auto-mute room, and click the toggle to disable this feature. By doing so, all participants’ microphones will be enabled.
TODA TIP: You can also disable auto-mute by clicking the menu directly on the playback bar, and selecting "Mute all participants".
