Overview

Found in both the Admin Control Panel (ACP) and the Host Control Panel (HCP), aspect ratio defines the width and height proportions of your media, typically expressed as two numbers separated by a colon (width:height). 

Adjusting the aspect ratio ensures optimal display across different screens. Explore additional controls for greater flexibility when viewing videos and images.

Mask Off/On

Choose how aspect ratios are displayed using Mask Off and Mask On. 

Mask Off

The selected aspect ratio will be highlighted, with low-opacity black bars surrounding the frame.

Mask On 

Black bars will be applied to enforce the selected aspect ratio.

⚠️ NOTE: Aspect ratio controls are only available for assets uploaded to the Media tab. Files uploaded via chat and then presented in the room do not support this feature.

Guides for Framing and Composition 

Additionally, you can now show or hide Guides that correspond to 90% of the chosen aspect ratio, to help with framing and composition.

1. Navigate to the Host Control Panel, and select the Media tab. 

   
   

2. Click on a media file to show the assets details page. 

   
   

3. Next, select the Settings tab.

   
   

4. Within the Aspect ratio dropdown, you’ll find the guides option.

For video files, quickly adjust the aspect ratio using a new dropdown menu on the playback bar.
